Earthen Vessels is my second album. These songs were written during the years I was living in El Sobrante, CA., attending seminary at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. Some were inspired by assignments from professors (Earthen Vessels, Isabella, Cana Wedding,Mama) one by looking out my bedroom window as the golden evening light lit up the eucalyptus trees in our back yard - and the quote by C.T. Studd, “Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell.” (Short Order Cook) - and one purely my own romantic fashioning of an end-time love story (Bethlehem to Berkeley). I had become increasingly aware of the condition of the church and the world (Isabella, Yahweh), and, after 9/11/ I became more aware of the urgency of the getting the gospel message to those living in darkness (Neon Lights, Earthen Vessels). Embedded in all my songs are biblical references like codes because I love to play with words! Enjoy. : - )
